eVTOL’s (electric vertical takeoff and landing) personal vehicles are new to market. Like flying cars that don’t require a pilot’s license, new to market. So, we had our work cut out for us—launching the brand and product to consumers first, while also getting them ready for B2B verticals shortly thereafter. While competitors talk about transforming personal air mobility solely from a product innovation lens, we knew Pivotal could win by focusing on a more holistic outcome — the ability for their machines to literally expand human reach, whether they be adventure-seeking joy riders or mission-critical first responders.

Pivotal’s Early Access Program

EAP is an an exclusive, closed initiative where selected participants purchased and operated the BlackFly, the production model predecessor to Helix, providing crucial, real-world feedback. This program allowed for over 1,000 crewed flights, aiding in the development of the $190,000 production aircraft, Helix. Each of the 12 people in the EAP program provided real testimonials and data for us across channels like the web and in-person events.

In addition to leveraging the EAPs to spread the word about the aircraft, we used long-form video of pilots to show use cases for the aircraft, like traveling to remote places with friends, and being able to island hop.

Influencers

To spread the word about the Pivotal Helix, we developed an influencer strategy and identified people, like Red Bull mootrcross racer Aaron Colton, and media outlets like SuperCar Blondie to share their experiences with the aircraft on their channels.
